Old Survey

Posted by Desirée on Wednesday, September 02, 2009
I just came across this postpartum survey I took on one of the forums I chat on. As rough as those first two weeks were, I kind of miss them....

how many weeks postpartum are you?
2 weeks tomorrow

how are you feeling physically?
pretty sore still, but getting better everyday

are you still bleeding?
Yep, but not too bad, I had a c-section.

are you still bf'ing, does it still hurt?
Yup! It never hurt, I feel so fortunate to be successful from the beginning, especially because I had to supplement with formula till my milk came in.

are you working out yet?
Just got the ok yesterday to go for walks! woohoo!

is anyone helping you out with the baby?
Just me and Daddy at it on our own! We have no family here.

are you back to work yet?
Ha-nope!

how are you feeling emotionally?
I had some pretty bad baby blues till about two days ago. I'm feeling much better now that I'm healing and feeling better physically.

how is your bond with your baby?
Getting better now that my blues are going away. I just love her to pieces and now am feeling like a good mommy because I can take care of her better.

biggest challenge?
I've been lucky, she's such a good baby. My biggest challenge is getting up at night to bf. I'm still sore and oh-so tired!

biggest accomplishment or happiest moment?
I love watching her smile in her sleep and look for me when she hears me, but my happiest moment was watching my SO (significant other) taking care of her and seeing a look on his face I have never seen before (daddy-daughter-love).

My biggest accomplishment is being able to do that myself now :o) and enjoy it without being distracted with pain! I couldn't take care of my baby at all in the hospital (Fri-Tues) because of a hard labor followed by an emergency c-section. The day we got home I felt like such a horrible mommy because I would cry whenever she wanted to eat (I'm bfeeding). It was so painful to move. I then felt worse because I was dreading feeding time-the only thing I could do for her at this point. I will be two weeks PP tomorrow and am feeling much better physically. I can take care of her now and enjoy her without focusing on the pain.
