Milk Monster

I have been teaching Sydney sign language since she turned six months. Jason raised his eyebrows at this idea, but like all of my other parenting projects, decided to go along. The first signs we introduced were milk, more, eat, and cat. After about two weeks, I was confident by her reactions that she understood. Now we're working on the signs for book and "all done".

Well, over the past couple days, I noticed when verbally asking Sydney if she wanted milk, she would move her hands like she was signing "milk". I have no doubt now that's exactly what she was doing. When I returned today after being gone for a couple hours, Sydney took one look at me and started going crazy. She was signing milk over and over and began whining. Jason found it quite comical. Two hours later, and before it was time for another feeding, she was signing milk again as she glanced over at me. I did feed her, and she seemed thrilled that all she had to do was "ask". I think we may be in for a greedy little eater now. The evolution of my little boobie tick has yielded a real, live milk monster.
